Abstract
Brain network disruption is often seen in preclinical Alzheimer’s disease, but it is unclear whether network alterations precede atrophy. Using SuStaIn disease progression modeling on 1,699 ADNI participants, we show that in the Typical progression subtype, network alterations in integration or segregation precede atrophy in the amygdala and hippocampus, highlighting their potential as an early disease marker.
